Meditation

How do we go about Meditating?  It is fairly simple.  Take a time when you have nothing you have to do. Sit down. Cross your legs & keep your hands in front of you with your palms down on your legs. Relax your body & take one deep breath and let out the stale air. If possible, keep your back straight but certainly do not force your back-- keep yourself relaxed. Allow your eyes to close & slowly breathe in through your nose & out through your mouth. Do not force it, let it happen naturally. The goal is to breathe normally without thought.

Now just concentrate on your breath and filter out all thoughts–good or bad thoughts. Just keep your mind empty of thoughts. If something starts to emerge as a thought, allow yourself to save it for later.

Now when you breathe in through the nose & out through the mouth in a s l o w normal pace, let your belly (not your chest) expand. Your focal point is your b r e a t h i n g.

Do this for about five to twenty minutes a day.  This will begin to allow you to clear your mind and it is healthy for your body. Do not have the TV or Radio on as you want the quiet without sounds.  The key is your relaxing. You will experience your heart rate slowing down. Those random thoughts will just be floating by just as the clouds float by.

Meditation is easier with an empty stomach or full stomach. While you are meditating you will be reaching a state of emptiness, tranquility and after a few meditation sessions, even a state of stillness and then voidness.

Have a good experience with your meditations as you will improve good physical and mental health.  Dr. Al
